Soleil and Michael’s Sikh wedding celebration was a stunning fusion of vibrant traditions, love, and unexpected beauty. Held on a rainy Saturday in September, their day was a perfect example of how sometimes, even when things don’t go exactly as planned, the result can still be beyond breathtaking. Despite the weather and construction challenges preventing us from capturing bridal party photos in our original location, we found a hidden gem within The Amway Grand’s Pantlind lobby. The warm, regal setting gave us the perfect backdrop for these photos, and the intimate, timeless feel turned out to be exactly what Soleil and Michael wanted.
A Fun-Filled Sangeet Celebration
The festivities began the evening before the wedding with an unforgettable Sangeet, where family and friends gathered to dance, laugh, and make speeches in honor of the happy couple. The energy in the room was electric as everyone celebrated Soleil and Michael’s love with joy and enthusiasm. This lively pre-wedding event set the tone for the beautiful day to come and was a memorable moment in their wedding journey.
Getting Ready at Sunrise with a View of Downtown Grand Rapids
As the sun rose, the bride and her bridal party began preparations for the big day with hair and makeup starting early in the morning. The breathtaking view overlooking downtown Grand Rapids made the start of the day even more special, with a calm and peaceful atmosphere setting the perfect mood for the bride and her closest family members to get ready at Amway Grand Hotel.
A First Look at the Sikh Society of West Michigan
The couple’s first look took place outside the temple, a poignant and meaningful moment before the ceremony. The vibrant colors of their traditional Indian wedding attire contrasted beautifully with the serene setting, creating photos that felt both timeless and deeply personal.
Bridal Party and Family Formals at The Amway Grand
Though we had to pivot our plans due to the rain and construction, the Pantlind lobby at The Amway Grand turned out to be the perfect location for bridal party and family formals. The elegant atmosphere gave our images a refined, regal touch. With the bride and groom in their exquisite Indian wedding attire and surrounded by their closest family members, the results were nothing short of spectacular.
A Glamorous Reception at JW Marriott
After a few hours of downtime, Soleil and Michael changed into their black-tie western wedding attire and were ready for their grand reception. The ballroom at JW Marriott was revealed in all its glory, with glamorous decor and an atmosphere filled with anticipation. We captured more portraits of the newlyweds, along with family members, before the doors opened to welcome guests.
